This article will briefly discuss the perspective of libertarianism in technology. 

Libertarian policies which accept innovation, freedom and entrepreneurship while accepting the risk will be able to provide humanity with Technology. This aspect of technology will make us all free, safe, and healthy.

Life and Technology

As you woke up today with the sound of an alarm, you must have completed your digital routine. You surf the internet, check for notifications in my email, Whatsapp, Facebook, and Instagram, or probably check the status of your Amazon delivery. All this has been possible with the help of Technology. Cut to the times of our ancestors; they probably had the same morning routine but no technology. Ever wondered what would have happened if the technology that we have today hadn’t been allowed to come into existence? Terrible thought, indeed! You can surf through your notifications or be woken up by an alarm. Not only has technology advanced to drones and artificial intelligence to cryptocurrencies, but more is in store with each passing day!

But will these innovations actually come into place in the near future?

Barriers to Innovation

As we continue to live in a world of constant technological innovation, governments have raised barriers to many of the innovations that have hampered progress and have limited accessibility to new products. Often times, it is seen that the regulators resort to the ‘Precautionary Principle’. This means that they view any new product as a threat to life and health and outright prohibit it.

 This notion has crippled and restricted many new ideas from coming into reality. This notion has trapped many life-changing technologies in the minds of flight hangers, entrepreneurs, technologists, and laboratories. This has led to a hindrance in the technological development of our country.

Libertarian Perspective

As many technological innovations remain trapped and invisible to the world, liberal perspective would allow for the freedom of innovation. The ideology acknowledges that every new innovation has uncertainities associated with it, there are significant risks associated but it will not deter the benefits of innovation, creative destruction and discovery which far outweighs the cost.

Conclusion

Libertarian perspective will significantly lead to a breadth of fresh air in the current regulatory environment, fostering the freedom of innovation. Fostering the freedom to innovate will drive the technological landscape in our country.
