The British Never Left.

They merely left their replacements in charge.

Replacements, who tax the middle class into oblivion, extort ransoms from the rich and play the poor as pawns in their political games.
Our country, which grows despite its draconian, bloated government, is yearning to remove the foot over her neck and live, truly and freely.
It is time for freedom.

Freedom from the overreaching power of babus.
Freedom from riot-inducing politicians.
Freedom from sub-par facilities.
Freedom from hooligans with a lust for power.
Freedom from being puppets of the political class.

It is the moment of reckoning. To unshackle the productive power of the country, to let the productive be productive, and to unravel prosperity.
The Libertarian Party of India is the medium to make this happen.

We Think:

Markets are a self-correcting, self-sustaining, and self-rewarding force if allowed to function freely:

The most potent way of getting a country’s economy back on track is to restrain one from interfering with it. With systems that produced enormous prosperity from Taiwan to America, from Japan to Singapore, and from China to Vietnam, we believe that markets, and not governmental force, must be the determinant for a nation’s economic trajectory. We call an end to the red tape. We call for farmers and merchants to be able to trade freely. It is of paramount urgency, that the original Asian Tiger be prosperous once again, and markets are the way to do it.

Adults can make decisions about their religious preferences much more efficiently than the government:

From the Mughals to the British, every despotic government has attempted to impose their religious preferences on the people of the subcontinent. Following the neo-Socialist rule that attempted to re-brand appeasement as socialism, we wish to eradicate preferential treatment by the government to different communities. We advocate for complete freedom of all religious institutions from governmental scrutiny and end all taxpayer subsidies for religious institutions.

Property is the backbone of civilization:

The universal trait of all despots is the utter violation of property rights. Any movable or immovable property is commandeered in the name of “the will of the people”. We consider this practice to be immoral. We believe all property rights to be fundamental to human nature, and any violation of them is a blatant violation of human dignity itself.

Tax terrorism must end:

Under the unchecked rule of nearly all of the previous governments, we saw that the taxpayer was used as fodder for corrupt officials to devour. We call an end to this brazen violation of the taxpayer. We think the taxpayer deserves respect much more than “civil servants”.

Freedom of press and speech is paramount:

This is not the period of kings, who can quell the voice of the people because they find it inconvenient. It is paramount to keep the voice of the people intact, to make sure the tyrants hear what the oppressed have to say. We call an end to all book bans, documentary and video restrictions, and any other restriction on any medium of dissemination of ideas.

Voluntary charity is a much better way for poverty eradication than taxation:

We wish to introduce consent in the Indian polity. To allow adults to live like adults, and succeed and fail, in all domains of their lives. We think that rather than being a nanny state, goodwill, and mutual help will be a much better force to uplift the poor.

Decentralized decision-making is much more efficient than centralized decision-making:

Babus sitting in the capital make decisions about the lives of farmers in Kerala. We wish to enable maximum decentralization so that maximum decisions can be made at the district and state levels.

Merit is the strongest force for social justice:

To truly unshackle the oppressed from multiple millennia of caste and color torture, merit will be a much stronger force than reservation. We call for caste-blind, color-blind hiring in institutions and organizations. Let a thousand Ambedkars be born, let a thousand Gandhis be born, but moreover, let them flourish, through the maxim of merit.

Technology uplifts, statism inhibits:

Technology is the carrier of modern progress. To view technology through the lens of a nation, and not humanity is what stifles progress. We believe in letting technologists build the future and keep the state in check. As seen time and again, private companies have provided essential services such as ambulances, sanitary pads, and respiratory masks, much better than governmental forces.

Trade is the real-world expression of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam:

From fields in Vietnam to factories in China, to assembly plants in India, electronics reach the West. This beautiful cycle of help, exchange, and goodwill, must be unhindered and kept sanctified, in the condition that individuals wish to keep. We believe in free trade, and not economic warfare.

Adults can defend themselves much better than corrupt police officers:

We believe in delegating responsibility of adults’ lives to themselves. The current police structure is more an enforcer of the government than a protector of individuals. We believe in affirming the right of self-defence of individuals, a right which was trampled over time and again in British India.

It is time for India to rise.

It is time for Indians to rise.
It is time for the world to rise.

Swatantrata ya Mrityu.
