What Does A Libertarian Think about Poverty?
Poverty certainly needs to be eliminated, as the liberal views suggest. But its existence in the society can't be denied.
A libertarian wont eliminate all poverty but will be offering powerful tools to reduce it. This will significantly be improving the lives of the poorest and the least privileged.
Libertarian’s View of Poverty
The Libertarians have a different thought and perspectives when it comes to eliminating or looking at Poverty. Libertarians would offer the poor the opportunity to escape poverty and become self-sufficient. This essentially throws light on the fact that they would provide the poor with the means to change their lives. Their primary aim is to decease the poverty line and make for an inclusive society where every person has the opportunity to earn and avoid poverty.
As opposed to the current government schemes or the social welfare programs that are launched by the government to eradicate poverty from society. Liberals were opposed to any kind of biases that came in between seeking opportunity and individual liberty. They wanted that the people who have means would help the ones who do not, thereby significantly eliminating the poverty line from practical existence.
Conclusion
Libertarians have a common faith to eliminate poverty but they can not eradicate it complety from socirty. However, rather than giving monetary support they believe in proving material support and opportunities to the group of lower sectors of people. This would curb poverty in society to a larger extent.
